Day Nine- Chill-laxing, Bass Pro, Jean wants to go back
Made today a take it easy day. We went to Walmart to get some more stuff to eat and a few other items. We then went to Bass Pro because it was there and as I said before, they are worth the stop, besides we had to get Fred something . This store was much larger than the one in Bristol, a much larger footprint and two floors. One fellow at the store told Jean, when she asked if this was the biggest, that the largest store was in Memphis at the old Pyramid. The pyramid is down town and used to hold events, such as concerts until the new FedEx Arena was built. Bass Pro bought it from the city and as many times as I have been to Memphis, I have never been in there. Jean found out that Martin Truex will be signing autographs there tonight and is mad I won't go back. I had to stop her from trying to cross I95 after we came back from the Universe Brewery.
Jean doesn't realize how close she is to becoming a bear treat. She really should be more cognizant of her surroundings.
I, on the other hand, told him a good joke and we both had a good laugh.

Neither of these photos are zoomed. That fish is that freakin big. If I had to guess, this Channel Cat was probably more than 3 feet and 40 lbs.
There was even a full service Restaurant. We didn't go in, but there was a pretty cool aquarium behind the full length of the bar.
We chilled out for a couple of hours at the camper, making sure all was good for the return trip and just to take it easy for a bit. Around five we got sick of that and headed over to the Center of the Universe Brewing Company. No pics, but we had a great time.We met several people, including a very personable young man, Dan, who as chance would have it, was also a twin. We got talking sports, beer and thoroughly enjoyed his company. The beers that I tried, and I tried a few, were all very good. This brewery was started by two brothers who started homebrewing in their garage and it soon became their passion, so they opened the brewery. Dan told us that they have another satellite location a few miles from here that is called the Origin Beer Lab. They do small batch brews there, testing for new beers, as well as teaching brewing 101. The beers are served in test tubes and beakers. If one catches on, then they send it to the Universe for a large brew. The have a beer called Chameleon. It is a base brew that they infuse with different hops and flavors. We just missed the Green Chameleon, as it kicked earlier in the week. Everyone there said that it was really good, too bad for you. The good news is that tomorrow Chameleon Blue makes its debut. We will be there.
It was a very relaxing day. I didn't try their flight - 8 samples seemed a little too much. I did have two different kinds of their beer. Both were good. Steaks on the grill to top off the evening.
